I decided to post two of our favorite recipes that we use in the snow....
Snow ice cream
Instead of using plain white milk we used chocolate milk to make chocolate ice cream. I also cut the sugar in half. So you can pretty much adjust the recipe in any way you want to make it super yummy for your family. I have also read recipes that added vanilla or powdered sugar to their sno-cream.
Side-note... Don't dig into this ice cream expecting thick creamy Breyers ice cream. It's light and more like ice milk than actual ice cream. The texture of the snow also changes the texture of the ice cream.
I melt together 1 cup of butter and 1 cup of packed brown sugar in a small pan over the stove. Once it's melted let it bubble for a minute or two while mixing.
Gather a big bowl of snow and bring inside. (The next step your kiddos will have fun doing for you.) Have your kids poke holes in the snow with their fingers.
(This step is all on you!) Pour the "caramel" into the holes your child makes and let it sit for a few minutes.
Once it's "set" in the snow you should be able to pull the chunks of caramel out of the snow.
Enjoy the yummy-ness that ensues!!
